All glory to Jesus Christ!
Amen and amen!
Really drawn to #6 Bonnell (you know how I love different perspectives) and I think Tissot really nails it again (#26). I’m also quite fond here of Stom (I think it is the empathy that he projects in Christ’s face as he struggles with his unbelief).
i’m glad you singled out Bonnell’s, Scott. He backed way off and featured the context of the three walking through God’s creation.
I’m always looking to include works which offer a perspective the other artists did not present—which is why I value Tissot so highly, as what I consider to be the artist with the keenest ability to imagine the true essence of biblical scenes. My job, i think, is to assist the Spirit by offering works He can use to touch different individuals, and he alone knows which works will speak to each.
Superb! Tissot, #26, how well he depicts the vanishing Christ.
What a challenge that disappearance must have been to paint! Yet James Jacques took it on....
Dan, you do a fabulous work with this and I really am impressed with how you push the envelope on these subjects with the works that are outside the box.
You just want more He Qi. LOL
That’s true!
Tissot captures perfectly that unearthly moment when the disciples finally realized Who He is, God Incarnate, the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world.
Beautifully stated.
I remember vividly that moment in my journey. I expect most believers do.
